self-resolve
There are countless times of conversations I’ve had with friends, family, and acquaintances where each individual is in search of happiness, reached a point of happiness, or have reminiscing moments from the past of being in the state of happiness.
I believe we lose a sense of true happiness when we seek solely on people. We fail to self evaluate our definition of happiness by not setting up our OWN standard for ourselves. A standard which we set ourselves with goals and a finish line. A incrementally progressive checkpoint in life where we check upon ourselves to see if heading toward the finish line. Our OWN personal finish line. We set ourselves for failure when our standards is based upon the goals or success of those around us and treat it as a competition beyond our own unique talents and abilities that you alone ought to know is not your OWN finish line.
Over the course of the past 3-months, I’ve seen two people who have truly a difficult family upbringing. Blame it on lack of discipline or love within the family, bad influences or hanging with the wrong crowds, or just some standard that truly twists the meaning of life.
When we don’t have faith in some kind of “higher-being” or grounded in some faith that gives a purpose in life, we will not have a direction. I truly value my personal time I have in God, with prayer and reading/meditating on His Word. Despite the persona I give or what people perceive me to be, my heart and my faith have been kept centered and focused on God and the Bible. I never give off that side to many people inside and outside my circle for many reasons BUT it shouldn’t account as a valid reason not to.
Words will come far and in between on what I’ve witnessed particularly this weekend and some of you who were there that night will attest that this is probably the worse up-to-date of seeing a person become absolutely NOT the person we all know him/her to be. We all fight our own types of “demons” daily in our lives. By the end of the day, it will always come down to HOW we overcame them and if we found some type of resolve.
